Home Holidays - Terms of Booking



GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please read our Terms & Conditions and Payment Policy below.
You will be asked to confirm agreement of these Terms & Conditions during the booking process before your reservation can be confirmed.

Reservations

At time of reservation request - Home Holidays will forward to the proposed guest a “Reservation Form” with all accommodation details.
It is the responsibility of the guest to check all details - enter their full name, home address and contact phone number, then email the completed “Reservation Form” back to Home Holidays for confirmation of the reservation - pending payment of deposit.
Home Holidays will confirm the acceptance of the reservation by email.

Rental Conditions

No Parties, No Venue Use, No unadvised guests
Please note - property owners do not permit their accommodation to be booked for use as party or function venues. Properties are made available on a per person basis & only for guests that form part of the booking. Please contact Home Holidays if you have any questions in regard to this policy or you need to update your booking details.

Payment Policy

A deposit of 25% of the total booking cost or one night´s charge (greater of) is required to confirm your booking and is payable at the time of making the booking - this will be taken from the credit card you submit with the booking confirmation or if you wish to secure your stay by using direct payment from a NZ bank account then details will be provided as part of the confirmation process; we regret we are unable to accept direct bank payment from an international transfer. The balance of the cost of your stay must be paid at least 30 days before your arrival date (or at the time of booking if this date has passed). If the balance is not paid at least 21 days before your arrival date, the property owner reserves the right to cancel your booking and retain the deposit paid.
Arrival instructions will be emailed upon completion of billing.

Owner´s Conditions

Home Holidays is acting on behalf of the property owner and the agreement for holiday accommodation is between you (the guest) and the property owner.The guest is responsible for the holiday home during the duration of their stay and any breakages and damage that may occur during the holiday will be billed to the guest (for immediate payment) at the cost of repair or replacement. The maximum guest numbers accepted for the home are indicated on the listing and must not be exceeded without prior permission of the property owner.

A contract will exist between you (the guest) and the property owner as soon a confirmation e-mail has been issued by Home Holidays. This contract is made on the terms of these booking conditions which are governed by Law and both parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts at all times.
A contract only exists between you (the guest) and the property owner when the confirmation e-mail has been issued.

Once Home Holidays has received your completed “Reservation Form” and been notified of the receipt of your booking deposit by the property owner (or third party booking agent), we will, subject to availability, confirm your stay by issuing a confirmation by email. This confirmation will be sent to the contact identified on your booking form. When you make a booking you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and do accept on behalf of your group the terms of these booking conditions.
Please check this confirmation carefully as soon as you receive it. Contact us immediately if any information which appears on the confirmation or any other document appears to be incorrect or incomplete as it may not be possible to make changes later. We regret we cannot accept any liability if we are not notified of any inaccuracies in any document within 10 working days of our sending it out.

CANCELLATION AND CHANGES TO BOOKINGS


Cancellation by guest:

Our Property Owners are reliant on advance bookings, therefore in the event of a cancelled reservation the following terms will apply - forfeit of the 25% deposit or one nights charge (greater of) if booking is cancelled after confirmation, or forfeit of 100% of the total booking cost paid if cancelled within 30 days of arrival date. The cancellation policy also applies to changes which may decrease the overall value of a booking, for example - shortening the length of stay.
Moving a booking to a future date may be possible. Before cancelling please contact us to discuss this option.
Once a booking has been confirmed, any requests to alter dates already confirmed are subject to approval by the property owner. Changes to confirmed bookings will incur an administration fee of NZ$100.00. We will acknowledge all amendments/changes/cancellations in writing.
Failure to arrive with no prior cancellation advice will result in forfeiture of the full booking cost.

Changes and Cancellation by the property owner:


The home rental contract may be cancelled by the property owner if full payment is not received 21 days prior to an arrival date and any deposit retained. At all other times, unless the change or cancellation arises from reasons of Force Majeure, the property owner will return all monies paid and Home Holidays will endeavour to arrange suitable alternative holiday accommodation of a comparable standard. Home Holidays regret we cannot pay any expenses, costs or losses incurred by you as a result of any change or cancellation made by any party and recommend that you consider travel insurance.

Check-in & Check-out Times

Standard check-in is after 2pm* on your day of arrival.
Standard check-out is by 10am* on your day of departure.
* Early check-in (after 12.00pm) or late check-out (before 12.30pm) may be available by prior arrangement and a $50.00 fee to cover the cost of an additional housekeeper may apply.

Internet Usage Policy


Where Free WiFi internet is available at a property (please see individual listings) it is provided for web browsing & communication. This service is not provided for heavy streaming or downloading & the viewing or downloading of illegal content is strictly prohibited. If heavy data usage (in excess of 1GB/day) is recorded during your stay you may be charged to replenish the data allowance for follow-on guests. Please contact us in advance if you wish to purchase a greater data allowance for your stay.

Cleaning


We would like to remind you that for self-catering accommodation:
  • We ask that you do all general housekeeping, wash & dry dishes, remove rubbish and launder your bathroom linen as required during your stay.
  • At time of your departure please leave the house in the same tidy condition in which you found it.
  • Remove your rubbish to the area identified - ensuring recycling rubbish is kept separate from general waste.
Our cleaners attend to all used linen and clean the house after you have departed, but it is expected that you will have adhered to the above requests.
Failure to leave the house in a suitably tidy state may result in extra charges being made against you.
By proceeding with this booking you authorise Home Holidays to invoice you or charge the credit card that made the booking for the fair cost of replacement, repair, or services required to restore the property, its chattels, furnishings or grounds to the condition found at arrival, where it can be established that such issues arose in the course of your stay & where these issues cannot be attributed to fair wear & tear.
Home Holidays reserve the right to invoice you or charge the credit card that made the booking for the immediate payment of the outstanding amount and we recommend that you consider travel insurance.
